A family furniture & rug showroom on Brisbane’s southside.
Modern Rugs & Furniture opened on Logan Road in Underwood in August 2025 — Persian-style rugs, velvet and leather lounge sets, upholstered beds and marble tables, chosen as sets so a whole room comes together.
Started with a container and a shopfront.
We didn’t start as a big chain, and we’re not trying to become one. The idea was simple: bring in the rugs and furniture we’d want in our own homes, put them in one room on the southside, and price them so a family could actually do the whole lounge at once.
Because we choose and import the ranges ourselves — from the medallion rugs to the lounge suites and the marble tables that finish them — we can keep the pieces talking to each other, and keep the price honest. What you see on the floor is what turns up at your door.
How we do things differently.
Not a warehouse of everything — a considered range you can see, sit on and take home as a room.
We buy it ourselves
Every container is chosen by the family that owns the shop — the rugs, the lounge sets, the beds and the marble tables. No middle-man range, no drop-shipping a catalogue we’ve never seen.
Whole rooms, not just pieces
Because we buy in sets, we can put a rug, a sofa and a table together that were meant to sit in one room — and keep the whole thing within a budget.
See it before it’s yours
It’s all on the floor at Underwood. Sit on the lounge, feel the wool, see the marble in daylight. That’s the part a photo can’t do — and the reason we have a showroom.
A real local business
We opened in August 2025 and we’re still the people who greet you at the door. You deal with the owners, not a call centre — and that carries through to delivery and after the sale.
